  Cade still fingered my infinity necklace as I reached for the beer in his hand and took a drink. “I have fond memories of the day I put this on you.”

  I shivered. “I have not-so-fond memories of standing in a corner while you teased me mercilessly for way too long, not allowing me to look at what you had planned behind me.”

  “Yeah, well, I had a fantastic view of your ass during that arrangement.”

  “And I had a less-than-fantastic view of the wall.”

  Cade chuckled. “I made it up to you with the ring though, didn’t I?” He released my neck and grabbed my hand to finger the giant diamond.

  My belly turned to mush. He’d made up for it in spades.

  I’d come home from work that day, a month ago, and found three boxes on the kitchen table. A smile had lit my face immediately as I remembered the first three boxes Cade had gotten me. At least this time, he hadn’t sent me to pick up my own presents.

  It never dawned on me he was about to propose. Cade had made me spend the entire evening earning those gifts. And I’d worked hard for them. My face flushed when I thought about our antics. I kneeled beside him during dinner, dressed in my work clothes. When he was pleased with my obedience, he’d given me the first box, a sheer negligée that made my fingers shake just picking it up out of the box.

  After putting it on, I spent some time on my knees in front of Cade, thanking him appropriately for the present.

  That had earned me the second box, my first pair of nipple clamps. I cringed thinking about the first time he put them on me. I’d lifted the negligée above my breasts and held it for him while he applied the dainty clamps to each nipple. The sheer material of my sexy new apparel rubbed against the tips of my breasts with every move I made.

  When he finally took pity on me and let me tip over the edge, I was still panting from exhaustion as he slid the diamond over my finger. I didn’t open that last box myself. Cade had been too anxious to wait. He’d torn into the box from the jeweler himself while I caught my breath. Before I knew what was happening, the ring was in place and Cade was between my legs, pushing the negligée up my body and releasing the clamps.

  I yelped as each one was removed and the blood flowed freely back to my nipples. And then I lifted my hand to my face. “Cade?”

  “Yeah, baby.”

  “Did you have anything you wanted to ask me?”

  “Did you like the clamps?” he teased.

  I licked my lips, staring at the giant rock on my left hand. “I did. Anything else?” I peered at him between my fingers.

  He grinned. “Will you marry me, Amelia?”

  My smile spread wide. That had been the happiest moment of my life.

  Cade jerked me back to the present. “What’cha thinking?”

  “How lucky I am.” I glanced down at the ring that still shocked me every time I saw it.

  “I’m pretty sure the luck is all mine,” he said as he lifted my fingers to his mouth and kissed them all one at a time.

  I figured it was best to let him believe that for as long as possible. “I love you, Cade Alexander.”

  “I love you too, Amelia Amy Lillie Kingston Kensington.”

  I laughed. “Is that the closest I’m ever going to get to hearing my name from your lips?”

  “Yep. You’ll always be Amelia to me.” He kissed me soundly, not caring one bit who might be watching as he claimed my lips and let his tongue slip into my mouth. His hand snaked behind my back and pressed me closer.

  I knew one thing for sure. I was indeed the luckier party. And I would spend my life making sure Cade thought the luck was all his.
